5 Things We’re Thankful for this Month

#5 Halloween Cheer
As the month of October reminded us, it does get chilly in Newport, but with the colder weather comes the warmth of the holidays. The inn lobby got festive with ghosts, witches, pumpkins, and candy to start the season off right. Trick or Treat!

#4 Artists and their Stuff
Boutique shops are part of the culture here in Newport, but the real delight of shopping comes from buying something straight from the maker. The Unique Boutique Artisan Fair is this November 9th and 10th at the Easton’s Beach rotunda, a gorgeous venue with a panoramic beach vista. This year you’ll find pottery, clothing, handbags, jewelry, linens and more. Early holiday shopping anyone?

#3 Good Burgers
While November usually brings thoughts of stuffing, pie, and turkey, we’re raving instead about a new burger joint that recently opened just off-Broadway. Mission, as it’s called, is not your average burger place. The small restaurant is operated by owners of the famous and farm-friendly TSK (Thames Street Kitchen) and is quickly making a fresh name for itself with homemade hotdogs, hand cut fries, a vegetarian option, and, hands down, the best burger in town.

#1 You, our guests
As we make our way into the homestretch of 2013 we can’t help but feel grateful for all the lovely guests we’ve had the pleasure of hosting this year and years past. Many of you come back time and again with smiles and shared enthusiasm for the place we’re lucky to call home. So, thanks for visiting us in Newport, we just wouldn’t be the same without you.
